You can expect rain and snow to impact the start of your work week, with rain likely changing to snow late Monday evening and snow continuing into Tuesday, with accumulations expected. The biggest impact will come Tuesday morning. Current models show that the storm has taken a slight northern shift as it approaches the region. Areas to the northwest of the Kansas City metro will see the largest impact from the coming snow. Kansas City metro should receive between three and five inches of snow. Areas farther north, around Maryville, have the potential to see up to eight inches. Areas to the south of the metro area will have significantly less snow accumulations. The main message: Be prepared.Travel is likely to be hazardous. With heavy snow mixed with wind gusts, power outages become likely.
